Ziggo Dome Amsterdam was built for a single purpose: a venue for popmusic of the highest acoustical quality. The Ziggo dome has a rectangular ground plan with two levels of tribunes. It can accomodate an audience of 17.000 people. The acoustic concept is based on the idela of an outdoor situation without any reflections that disturb the sound quality.
A high sound insulation was achieved by decoupled double constructions and noise levels from technical service installations we reduced by hydraulic balancing of the system. Since the opening the hall and its acoustics were highly praised by the audience and the musicians that performed here and their technicians. The project was executed in collaboration with Rob Metkemeijer.
